The mission.

Help the young people of Wales feel confident in deciding to get vaccinated against tetanus, polio and diphtheria.

Working alongside Public Health Wales, we produced a short animated film that explains the process of receiving the Teenage 3-in-1 Booster vaccine in schools across Wales and increase up-take of the vaccine, guided and informed by the very school students who would be receiving the vaccination.

Designed to be short, but packed full of important information, the animation reveals the nature of the 3 diseases, tetanus, polio and diphtheria and how the process of getting the vaccine will ensure the greatest possible protection against these viruses.

The animation.

Following insights from the young people who helped guide the creation of this animation, the film presents information, such as UK-wide vaccine uptake figures, possible side-effects and how the vaccine teaches antibodies to fight off the infections. This is all delivered in a bright and distinctive animation style that feels friendly and digestible for the young audience.

Alongside using a trustworthy medical professional as the main character guiding the animation, we also incorporated the visuals of the viruses as hardened criminals with intent to wreak havoc within a healthy body and a heroic antibody who, after being energised by the vaccine, is more than strong enough to defeat them. We also utilised filmed footage of a vaccination appointment taking place to show the process of getting vaccinated with the 3-in-1 Booster as accurately and as true-to-life as possible.
