The Quit for Them campaign encourages parents and grandparents to give up smoking. Over 1400 people in North Wales have started their quit journey and the campaign reached 3.5 million via social media.

The campaign offers useful online resources via a bespoke website to help smokers begin their quit attempt, as well as downloadable vouchers which can be exchanged at local pharmacies in North Wales. An interactive map to direct people to their nearest NHS services and stories from ex-smokers attracted people to apply for a quit kit which was sent out in the post to smokers within 24 hours. Case studies were so inspirational that they gained media attention in local and national press.

Kelly Evans, Director at Social Change UK, said “We are immensely proud of our achievements with all of our campaigns, particularly the Quit for Them campaign which has been nominated for several awards this year. The team has worked incredibly hard to produce a successful campaign which can engage and inspire people to stop smoking and make a real difference to their lives at a time when we are seeing interest in quitting dwindling.”

The results for the awards will be announced in Cardiff on Wednesday 23rd November 2016.

These three shortlistings take the tally up to six nominations in 2016 for Social Change UK, making this a bumper year.
