Rachel is particularly passionate about making behavioural theories accessible for a wide audience, and using behaviour change to empower people to make healthier choices. Despite her big goals, Rachel still appreciates the little things in life. She loves to make people smile, and her proudest moment is the time she managed to purchase 15 items for £4 in the reduced aisle in Sainsbury’s.

Her favourite thing about her role is getting to know our lovely clients, and the diverse range of projects that she gets to work on.

Despite being a huge Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Marvel fan, her Mastermind Specialist Subject would be Shakespeare. In her spare time, Rebecca loves going to the cinema and theatre (duh!), baking the world’s best vegan cookies (so good!), and hate-watching Twilight.

With over 10 years of experience in Marketing Management and a wealth of sparkly qualifications including a degree in Drama, Julie spends her days working on creative campaigns to help drive positive change. When she’s not busy thinking of ways to make the world a better place, you’ll probably find Julie getting her hands dirty in the garden. A self-confessed homesteading geek, Julie has tried her hand at everything from growing rainbow corn to hatching her own quail chicks – we know whose house we’re going to when the zombie apocalypse strikes!

Since working at Social Change UK, Julie’s proudest moment has been figuring out how to right click on an Apple mouse (she had to Google it), and she enjoys working collaboratively with the team to make an impact – as well as the many giggles had in the process.

Jake

Creative Designer and Producer

Fun facts:

1

Likes pineapple on pizza

2

Adrenaline junkie

3

Hates dehydrated fruit

If Jake could describe himself in three words, it would be “clumsy, gangly and alive – like a new-born giraffe.” With a degree in Interactive Design, Jake spends his days using his creative skills to develop innovative designs and animations for our clients’ campaigns. Jake has wanted to be an animator since childhood, putting his dreams of becoming a Pokemon trainer on the backburner to make a positive difference.

He has a knack for making important social issues more accessible through design and animation, as well as getting things off the top shelf for the rest of the Social Change UK team. In his spare time, Jake enjoys doodling, listening to weird music and podcasts (Radio 6 is his favourite), and attempting to keep the office plants alive (with mixed results).

Fun facts:

1

Tea leaf drinker

2

Marvel fanatic

3

Growing up, Daisy wanted to be a model, but when she only reached 5ft 3, she decided to become a social researcher instead – and the world of research and the SCUK team are very grateful for this! With a first-class degree in Psychology and the Winner of the University of Lincoln’s School of Psychology Award, Daisy has some pretty impressive qualifications, but none more so than the official scroll she got from a Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator (she’s basically a pirate).

A whiz with numbers (she’s essentially the office calculator) and a passion for behavioural theory, Daisy loves using her skills to make a positive difference to the world. In her spare time, Daisy enjoys cross-stitching while watching episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, and trying out any weird and wonderful flavour of tea she can get her hands on.

Since graduating from the University of Lincoln in 2019, Ellen has been putting her Journalism degree to good use working in Marketing and PR roles to deliver attention-grabbing copy that gets brands noticed. Ellen would consider herself a semi-professional people watcher, finding joy in observing and sussing out human behaviours – her most guilty pleasure however, involves the sofa, snacks, and an episode (or five) of The Real Housewives franchise.

Thankfully for the Social Change UK team, her horizons have since broadened, and she is currently working towards her degree apprenticeship in Digital Marketing.

A budding wordsmith, Lauren loves using her creativity to write sparkling copy for our clients’ campaigns, and that no two projects, or days, are the same. She is passionate about animal rights, and one day hopes to own a big house filled with lots of rescue animals. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys playing The Sims (don’t trust her not to remove that pool ladder), eating takeaways in her pyjamas and hanging out with her dogs Lilo and Stitch.

Andy

Business Manager

Fun facts:

1

Obsessed with Liverpool FC

2

Scored past Bruce Grobbelaar but was nutmegged by John Aldridge [Yep. no idea either].

3

Loves doing 'B' things [bridge-climbing, bungees, boats, beaches, beer]

He’s a game of two halves, our business manager – Andy is a (self-professed) grumpy old man yet simultaneously a wide-eyed and wonderous overgrown child. If you call the office for any assistance, he can sound quite well-spoken and appear almost civilised, at least compared to how incoherent and manic he gets on the football terraces! Andy joined Social Change UK after spending over a decade working predominantly in the IT support sphere for Midlands SMEs and then taking time out to raise his two daughters – he's quite upset that the ‘turning it off and on again’ technique he perfected with misbehaving computers can’t be applied to parenting the kids at home.

Andy is also one of the hosts of our podcast, Tea with the Changemakers – like when he’s at the football, Andy’s all about lending his voice to elevate others who are doing good work!

Anna

Social Researcher

Fun facts:

1

Avid reader

2

Loves eggy bread

3

Art gallery fan

A natural-born analyst with a degree in Psychology, Anna loves using their research skills to investigate important social issues and make change happen. Whether conducting a survey or writing a report on a hard-hitting topic, Anna loves that every day is different, as well as having the opportunity to work with others who want to change the world for the better.

Along with behaviour change, Anna lives for eggy bread and NSYNC (a guilty pleasure), and their “big three” issues are better LGBTQ+ education in schools, making workplaces more accessible for autistic people, and making the arts more accessible for all. They’re also a big fan of blasting music while “attempting to cook” (their words, not ours) and sporadically watering their pothos plant Vlad.

Fun facts:

1

He's got tunes on Spotify and Apple Music

2

Has as many houseplants as years on the planet

3

Cannot resist Karaoke

As our Content Producer, Max is usually busy working on our podcast, Tea with the Changemakers. A video and sound editing whizz, Max has a degree in Music and Audio Production from York St John University, equipping him with a wealth of knowledge on all things auditory. Max’s proudest moment since joining the team was figuring out how to use the Outlook calendar, and he loves the fact that each day he gets to produce a podcast putting the spotlight on those doing social good. When Max isn’t making music or researching production techniques, he enjoys going on runs and keeping active – however, good weather usually calls for a pint in a beer garden. A natural performer, Max’s special talent is that he can recite and perform Robbie William’s Rock DJ word for word - he also has his own album out on Spotify and Apple Music!
