The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently, and updated annually. The current rate is £7.85 an hour, and is calculated according to the basic cost of Living in the UK. Employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis.
Social Change UK believe that paying the Living Wage is good for the economy, for business, for the individual and for society. By signing up to the Lincoln Living Wage Register, Social Change UK have received the maximum accreditation - three stars. To get three stars you have to commit to working with suppliers who also pay the Living Wage. Social Change UK will now be asking all suppliers to commit to the Living Wage.
