The mission.
Increase understanding and uptake of essential vaccines in secondary schools.
Working with Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, we set out to produce a short, informative video alongside a suite of marketing materials in order educate and increase awareness and uptake of 4 key vaccinations in secondary schools; HPV, MenACWY, Td/IPV (3-in-1) and MMR.
With the aim of being eye-catching, accessible and effective, the video and supporting materials would be used by schools and health providers across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Norfolk and Suffolk, detailing the years in which each vaccine would be provided, the process of receiving the vaccines along with clear detail of potential side-effects for full transparency and ensuring each teenager is fully prepared for vaccination day.
The video.
Filmed in collaboration with schoolchildren from 2 schools, the short video is presented by and also features trustworthy nurses with years of experience administering these vaccinations. This allowed for the video to represent the vaccination process as accurately as possible to help reduce any misconceptions or fears that can accompany getting vaccinated.
Alongside filming, we also incorporated animated sequences with colourful school children characters to help visualise the order of years in school each vaccine is given and the possible side-effects. We also animated replicating viruses lingering around the students into several filmed sequences, with the aim to help visualise the rapid pace in which these viruses spread, but also to show how the vaccines can defeat them, with the hoard of viruses dying or retreating after each vaccine is administered.
To assist in getting the messages out, alongside the video, we also produced a suite of marketing materials including posters and social media posts which visually compliment the video, whilst condensing it's key messages into bitesize and easily sharable designs.
