Webinars 2022 - A Load of 'BS' (Behavioural Science).
Join us for a 30-minute online discussion about people and their behaviour every month from March - November. Do you know your EAST from your MINDSPACE? Have you heard of the COM-B model?
Social Change UK's new webinar series will help you understand behavioural science and how it can help you to create positive social change.
When? The last Thursday of the month from 11am - 11:30am [except for August and December].
"As humans, we are social creatures. Our interactions and relationships have the power to transform not only our attitudes, emotions, and behaviour but also those of an entire community or society. To understand how to tackle tough social issues and promote large-scale positive change, we must first seek to understand the processes, interactions and underlying biases that influence the choices we make and ultimately dictate 'why' we do 'what' we do".
The series demystifies fundamental frameworks and behavioural science theories and deep dives into specific social issues. Together, we will explore how behavioural science can help us to understand these challenges and how we can use this knowledge to effect social change.
Dr Rachel Langbein is the Chief Behavioural Scientist heading up the Behavioural Insights Team at Social Change UK. Rachel has experience working across the public and private sector on issues including Smoking and Physical inactivity, and more recently, working on behaviour change programmes addressing women’s safety, community cohesion and men’s mental health. Before joining Social Change UK, Rachel was a PhD Researcher who designed, implemented and analysed the findings of original empirical research and delivered both theory-based and practical laboratory seminars to undergraduates at the University of Lincoln.

Tea with the Changemakers is a weekly podcast with changemaking at its heart. Every Tuesday we bring you a brand new 15-30 minute episode where one of our changemakers, either Kelly Evans or Andy Senyszyn will interview a guest who we consider to be a changemaker - someone doing good.
Whether it’s change on a worldwide scale or something more local, guests on our podcast inspire our listeners through their storytelling and passion for a cause or issue they care about. You can hear from activists, campaigners, policymakers and people like you and me who are trying to do something positive either at an individual level [such as reducing plastic or becoming vegan] or moving the dial on big issues that affect millions of people.
We have a dedicated page giving you the lowdown on our podcast so head on over to discover where to listen and how to subscribe.
