Beast cancer: Scan younger women at risk, charity says
Breast Cancer has stated that younger women “with a family history of breast cancer” should receive annual screenings. The charity funded a study carried out by researchers at the University of Manchester, offers “scans to 2,899 women in this age group who were deemed to have moderate or high risk of the disease”. The report indicated that “cancers were detected sooner when 35 to 39-year-olds at risk had annual mammograms” however, experts have stated that they need to “balance the benefits” regarding this change.

Instagram vows to remove all graphic self-harm images from site
In 2017 a 14-year-old girl called Molly Russell took her own life. Her father has stated that Instagram had “helped kill” his daughter. This has prompted a move from the boss of Instagram, Adam Mosseri to state that the social media giant will remove all “graphic images of self-harm” from their platform.

Calls for change in law on PTSD related deaths
Friends and loved ones of former soldier Danny Johnston are calling for “more support” for those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In May 2018 Danny went missing, and his body was found “three days later in woodland near Chichester”.

Patricia Correia, mother of sixteen-month-old Madalena has explained that her daughter has experienced a series of “wheezing episodes” that have resulted in the toddler being rushed to A&E “five times in the past six months”. Correria fears her daughter is “at the sharp end” of the air pollution problems in the UK right now. A problem that contributes to “about 40,000 deaths a year”.
