We are currently working with Croydon Council on a new online health platform, which will signpost local residents to a range of interactive tools and services and motivate them to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing. The main areas of focus on this project are smoking, obesity, nutrition, alcohol awareness, sexual health and mental health.
We have worked in co-creation with local Croydon residents via organized focus groups, in order to develop the website according to their opinions and their responses, both in terms of design and functionality.
The website will be fully interactive, with resources such as interactive maps, apps, videos, podcasts and useful tips on how residents can manage their own health behaviours.
The website will act as a ‘go-to’ hub for the residents of Croydon that may be seeking to change or improve their current health behaviour. We want to take people from contemplating behaviour change to actually making the change happen and more importantly, maintaining it.
This platform will target all residents in Croydon, with particular focus being given to areas of deprivation and low income, in order to reduce health inequalities. We are using evidence-based data mapping in order to identify the key areas to target in the marketing stage of this campaign.
Through the provision of this online health platform we hope to:
- Provide the residents of Croydon with the tools and resources to manage their own health behaviour
- Reduce health inequalities across the Croydon borough
- Engage with residents of Croydon and signpost people to the relevant services to help improve their health behaviour
