Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Public and Patient Involvement Assurance Group (PPIAG) for Better Care Together (BCT).
We are Social Change UK – a specialist agency working with the NHS in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to help them find 10-12 committed residents to join a patient and public involvement assurance group. We are recruiting ten to twelve group members with a specific interest in health and social care in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
We have been engaged to ensure independence and impartiality of the recruitment process. We want to bring together a group of local people who are passionate about health and social care within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The group will bring creative, fresh and independent thinking to public engagement, and provide strategic judgements, to ensure commissioners and providers have engaged and understood local insights from patients, staff, carers and stakeholders, that will influence the way we design local health and social care.
Your role isn’t to represent patients or the public but to comment on how effectively the patient and public voice has been engaged and understood before decisions about health and care provision are made and to suggest improvement where needed. These are exciting, challenging and ever changing times for health and social care. With the help of a vibrant PPIAG we can ensure that local care is designed around the needs of our patients.
