to everyone who applied to join a new patient group and play an important role in local healthcare
We have held two workshops to meet the applicants, which is the final phase of recruitment and have successfully appointed ten members.
The Better Care Together partners in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland invited people passionate about health and social care to volunteer their time and apply to sit on this new group. We have been really pleased with the enthusiasm of people who have come forward.
At a very exciting yet challenging time in the history of the NHS it is more important than ever before to have the help of vibrant and creative people, who can help to ensure that local care is designed around the needs of patients.
Members of the group will come together for their induction in November. As a group they will be helping to ensure that better quality care is provided in a way that is important to local residents.
They will review information and assure themselves that the views of public and patients have been sought and considered when services are redesigned and delivered. The group will be at the forefront of supporting the design of plans including the proposal regarding services provided at the three hospitals in Leicester and other improvement plans for services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Anyone still interested?
Depending on the outcome of the second workshop, there is still the capacity for two to three other people to join the group, at such a crucial time in the NHS. If you are interested in joining the panel and feel you can review feedback and opinions received about healthcare and decide if they have been listened to and considered, then please contact Better Care Together.
Anyone interested should email BCTComms@westleicestershireccg.nhs.uk and we will forward an application pack to you.
